Full Pull Aged White Rhone
Hello friends. We have a rare opportunity today: a chance to sample a white from the Rhone that is a half-decade past vintage at solidly discounted pricing. 2015 Paul Jaboulet Aine Cotes du Rhone Blanc Parallele 45 - $17.99 (TPU $11.99) This bottling comes from a Rhone Valley stalwart: Paul Jaboulet Ainé. While Jaboulet is best known for wines at the higher end of the lineup (especially Hermitage La Chapelle), their Parallele 45 lineup contains value gems in shades red, pink, and of course white. The blend here is 50% Grenache Blanc, 20% Marsanne, 20% Viognier, and 10% Bourboulenc, and this was raised entirely in stainless steel. Listed alc is 13.5%. On first pour, you immediately know you have a white with some age; this hits the glass with a notably golden hue. And the aromas confirm that fact, with golden-apple fruit notes complemented by savory tones galore: sweet corn and earthy honey, mineral and salty marcona almond. The palate is dry, savory, the fruit beginning to recede to supporting-actor status, allowing the savory/mineral players to lead.
Please limit order requests to 12 bottles, and we’ll do our best to fulfill all requests, with allocations coming Monday at 9am. The wine is in the warehouse and available for immediate post-allocation curbside pickup, or for shipping during the next temperature-appropriate shipping window.
Regards,
